Summer vacation officially ends on Monday. Just over 24 hours from now.
I’ve been counting down the days until school starts probably with a little too much glee the past month. But not for the reason you might think.
I work from home and all summer my girl has been such a trooper letting me get done all of the work I need to do. She’s played along next to me while I work at the dining room table or at the coffee table. She’s build princess towers and barbie forts all over the living room {often left up for days}. She’s read a lot of books and gone through a pile of drawing paper.
Sure there were camps and swim lessons. Trips to the lake. But other than that we’ve been at home.
I know she’s ready to get back to school. To see her friends. To have her own schedule. To do her own thing. She gets a locker this year and she’s just so excited about that.
So this time tomorrow night, I’ll be making sure all of her supplies are labeled and ironing her dress so that it’s perfect for those first day of school pictures. Excited for her as she gets back to school.
