Chicago Life Michigan

sampling of my musings about life in michigan…

I remember fondly a hot, sunny summer day spent on Michigan Avenue a couple years ago.  A great friend and I spent the quintessential perfect day on the Mag Mile.  We began with lunch at RL – definitely one of the top places to see and be seen for lunch – then we moved on to shopping and browsing at the best Cartier, Louis Vuitton, and Neiman Marcus had to offer.  Then we ended our day with high tea at the Peninsula Hotel (affectionately known as having ‘tea at the Pen’)  …I love having tea, the yummy little savories and sweets with every kind of tea imaginable…

Now you’d never believe me if I told you, but this friend has also moved to Michigan only a few months before me and of course she’s feeling a bit lost as well.  So we finally cleared our schedules and found a spot to meet that is in between our new cities.  We shopped and had lunch.  It was 15 frigid degrees outside.  Lunch was at Leo’s Cony Island and the shopping was at an outlet mall.  You know what?  Lunch was fantastic and the shopping was fun darting from store to car to store.  I had a great time and can’t wait to do it again.

…now if we can just find someplace in this state that actually serves a high tea…
